Thai tea – Cha Tra Mue brand

If you come to Thailand you can not miss to drink the popular Thai tea.   You can drink it in 2 ways – straight as Thai black tea or with milk as Thai milk tea, but it definitely needs to be sweet. Thai tea can be found anywhere on the street vendors or local restaurants however if you would like to buy the tea itself I would recommend you to buy the Cha Tra Mue brand (means Hand Brand).

Cha Tra Mue is the number one and oldest Thai Tea brand in Thailand. It was established in Yaowarat or China town in 1945. Currently, not only can you find the Thai Tea leaves in any supermarket in Thailand, but they also have their own brand vendors in various locations such as BTS stations.

If you happen to pass by a supermarket anywhere in Thailand, pick up some Cha Tra Mue Thai Tea leaves. They will make a good gift. I would recommend the red can which is the original Thai Tea flavor.
